The seven teaching standards are spread across 3 areas of teaching. Teacher's looking to further their practice and career are required to meet the Standards in order to become a registered teacher, or achieve Highly Accomplished and Lead certification.
1. Professional Knowledge
In order to make progress in a teaching career professional knowledge needs to be continually updated based on the latest research. Teachers need to keep up with the most current content of their subjects and curriculum. They need to know and understand the fundamental strategies, structure and methodologies relevant to the programs they teach. Through our Professional Development courses teachers will understand what constitutes highly effective teaching. They will develop their teaching pedagogy and use developmentally appropriate strategies in their learning and teaching programs to improve student outcomes.

On our courses for teachers we focus on developing a teachers repertoire of sophisticated communication techniques. Teachers will use and practice verbal and non-verbal techniques to engage with the students at a deeper level. They will develop stagecraft techniques that build rapport easily with groups and individuals, which will manage student behaviour in a positive and artful way.
We look at all stages of the teaching and learning cycle, including planning for learning and assessment, developing learning programs, assessment for learning, summative assessment and providing feedback to parents/carers.

Teachers will identify their own learning needs and analyse, evaluate and expand their professional expertise. They will learn how to gain buy in from all stakeholders. Learning how to engage and communicate with parents/carers about their children's learning.
They will also learn how to to engage with their school communities to enrich the educational context for students.
